Mission Statement-Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scout Promise-On my honor I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law. Girl Scout Law-I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout. Jurisdiction-The council serves over 6,600 girl and over 1,500 adult members in 15 counties: Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, Meigs, Grundy, Marion, Rhea, Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Van Buren, and McMinn counties in Tennessee; and Walker, Dade, Catoosa and Chattooga counties in Georgia. Finance-The
council is funded through annual product sales, United
Ways of Greater
Chattanooga, Rhea, McMinn and Bradley Counties, and from annual
giving contributions from parents and friends of Girl Scouts,
corporate
and foundation grants and program fees.

|
History-A 501C3 (non-profit) organization, the Moccasin Bend Council was established in 1957 with the merger of the Chattanooga and Cleveland Councils and continues to serve girls ages 5-17 in the nationally chartered Girl Scout Program. Council Shop-The council operates an official Girl Scout Equipment Agency in the office, where parents, volunteers, and friends of Girl Scouting may purchase uniforms, books and gift items. The Council Shop is open during regular council hours. |
| Camp Adahi-The 900-acre camp, located on Lookout Mountain, serves as resident camp in the summer to members and non-members. Some of the programs offered at camp are swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, ropes challenge and hiking. The camp also serves troops throughout the year for weekend camping. | ![]() |
